Special Interests: Shelter Medicine (Galax Carroll Grayson and Surry County Animal Shelters supervising Veterinarian), Preventative Care

Dr. Clark Fincher graduated from North Carolina State University in 1989, but his veterinary career started long before that, growing up with his late father Dr. Donald S. Fincher, who started practicing veterinary medicine in 1960. Dr. Donald S. Fincher founded Galax Veterinary Clinic in 1966 and Animal Medical Services in 1994. Clark was often at his father’s feet on calls, as well as at the clinic from the time he was able to walk. This long-time family friendly atmosphere is what he cherishes most about the practice today and continues to put in place for the future. Dr. Fincher is now is an owner/partner with Blue Ridge Veterinary Services, Inc.  While he no longer practices large animal medicine, he is always available for consultations both with clients and our other veterinarians. He is active with our area animal shelters, both in Galax and Surry County, acting as their primary veterinarian in both a professional and personal aspect.

Dr. Fincher and his wife Robin own 2 Chihuahuas, 2 cats and are active scuba divers, both obtaining their dive instructor certification in 2010.

Dr. Fincher is available for appointments at the Galax Veterinary Clinic on Thursdays and Fridays and at Animal Medical Services on Mondays and Tuesdays.
