Awesome Vetinarian clinic- always a pleasant experience- friendly helpful staff who take the time to listen to you and your concerns. I would thoroughly recommend this clinic (and I do) to everyone. Would not go anywhere else. Great after hours assistance if needed. I cannot offer a suggestion as to how to improve their services because they are ‘top notch’ in my books.

Rosie came home with a really swollen foot. I took him to Galax Vet Clinic (where I take all my cats). When they called back, they told me he had been bitten by a poisonous snake. They kept him three nights. The next week he was still able to be neutered. Every week for several weeks I took him back to have the bandgage changed on his foot, and then get his antibiotics. Even though he was trembling on the table, he was still purring as they petted him. He only lost one toe. His foot is completely healed, the hair has grown back, he’s walking normal and is still a very sweet, loving cat. BUT, he is no longer an outdoor cat! 🙂
The best vets around! The whole staff is AWESOME!

Luke is 15 ½ years old and began having great difficulty getting up and down. He is a 45 pound Border Collie mix. He had pain in his back legs, especially his left rear leg when he was trying to lie down. He was on prescription medication daily. We decided to try laser therapy for his discomfort and inability to move well.

After the first treatment there was very little noticeable difference. After the second treatment he was obviously moving better. By the 5th treatment he was moving much better, getting up and down was much easier for him and he no longer needed daily pain medication. It has been five days since his last treatment and he has not shown any signs of pain and has not had any pain medication.

We definitely recommend this treatment for mobility issues and pain. Even in an elderly dog it works wonders. We feel so lucky to have our old boy and to see him moving around like a much younger dog. We are so grateful for the doctors at Animal Medical Services and their tender, loving care for Luke.

Save A Lab thanks the Galax Veterinary Clinic for support of our efforts to rescue Labradors and Labrador‑mix dogs in Carroll and Grayson counties.
The clinic and staff have gone above and beyond in providing care to these dogs. Galax Vet Clinic takes our dogs, boards them, spays or neuters the dogs, treats for parasites, fleas, ticks, and microchips them. Yes, we pay for these services. But the clinic goes way beyond routine vet care for these homeless and very often emotionally-needy dogs. Vets have stayed late to make sure a new arrival has proper diagnosis. Techs walk the dogs to begin their training and provide emotional comfort. Groomers bathe the dogs with tenderness. Everyone who comes in contact with the Save A Lab dogs treats them with respect and kindness. Assistants and techs walk the dogs for our volunteers to take photographs and videos, which help tremendously in finding foster and permanent homes quickly for the dogs.

Without Galax Veterinary Clinic and its compassionate treatment of these terrified animals, more dogs would be left waiting at the shelter. Making rescue happen in your area requires local help and affordable, compassionate vetting. We have found that in Galax Veterinary Clinic.
